NOT·A·CLOCK is a light display for 35mm slides. No, it doesn’t respond to movement or interaction of any sort. Nor temperature fluctuations or sound waves or RSS feeds. The NOT·A·CLOCK doesn’t care that you have an iPhone. It’s simply a display for 35mm slides. It lights up. I’ve approached artists to use the display as a canvas for their own work.
Each has contributed images from their personal collection for display in a NOT·A·CLOCK. I’ve converted their images to slides and made two sets of NOT·A·CLOCKs. One is for the artist, the other is to show in galleries. My goal is to sell these works to collectors so I can produce more NOT·A·CLOCKs. Artists who have contributed to the project include:

This is a collection of images chronicling the daily fashion choices of my associates at Armchair Media. This series ran in conjunction with an show in Castleberry Hill hosted by Mary Stanley Studio in Fall of 2008. Each day a new image was printed and added to the art piece. The duration of show resulted in the culminated, finished piece.

These are business cards for fusionbrands, an Atlanta-based kitchen product design company. This is really just a sliver of much larger pie that includes branding, marketing, website and video production. Check out their website. I have worked with Kraigh and Anna of fusionbrands for several years now since their launch of thefoodloop in 2006. Most recently, I’ve had the pleasure of working with the dynamic couple while a part of Armchair Media.

100 Years of Architecture Poster

This poster commemorates the 100th anniversary of Georgia Tech’s College of Architecture program. It’s celebrated with a lecture series by former graduates of the school. The 100 circles refer to the centennial. Each circle is proportional to the graduation class size for each year.
This was done in collaboration with several Armchairs, including Stefan and Farbod. Also with the ideas of Ted Ullrich, Travis Ekmark and Raymond Forbes. The poster was mailed to architecture schools, organizations and alumni.

Welcome to the Contemporary Stop

Farbod has made a a mix called Shhh v.1 (download zip). This photo is the cover art.

I took this in Disney World. The attendant repeated, “Welcome to the contemporary stop,” several times. Young families shuffled off the monorail, still buzzing from the day.

Modern Atlanta - MA

Modern Atlanta was formerly atlanta modern. It is the result of the efforts of Bernard McCoy and Elayne DeLeo to unify the greater Atlanta design community through modern home tours and events throughout the city. I have been fortunate to be been involved from the branding concept, strategy and design side of things. It’s been a team effort of armchairs, pc students and design friends. Custom Moleskine

This is part of the Armchair seasonal gift series. What you have here is that infamous partner of adventures, the Moleskine notebook. Nate wrote a CSS style-sheet for the book and George and Larry over at the Epidemik Coalition screenprinted the design onto the book. It takes a little understanding of html to get it. It’s meant to be mildly amusing if you do. Nate Steiner took this photo and is coincidentally the hand model as well. My role was somewhere in the concept/design/producer arena.

Huey + Partners

This is a website for Huey Partners, an Atlanta based ad agency. It’s a flash site with some playful features. The news section is pulled dynamically from the html, which is absolutely seo fantastic, as you know. The Addy’s gave it a gold star or something similar at their awards ceremony. Or maybe it was a silver badge of distinguished service award.
