100 Years of Architecture Poster

This poster commemorates the 100th anniversary of Georgia Tech’s College of Architecture program. It’s celebrated with a lecture series by former graduates of the school. The 100 circles refer to the centennial. Each circle is proportional to the graduation class size for each year.
This was done in collaboration with several Armchairs, including Stefan and Farbod. Also with the help of Georgia Tech students, Ted Ullrich and Travis Ekmark. The poster was mailed to architecture schools, organizations and alumni.

Farbod has made a a mix called Shhh v.1 (download zip). This photo is the cover art.

I took this in Disney World. The attendant repeated, “Welcome to the contemporary stop,” several times. Young families shuffled off the monorail, still buzzing from the day.

Modern Atlanta was formerly atlanta modern. It is the result of the efforts of Bernard McCoy and Elayne DeLeo to unify the greater Atlanta design community through modern home tours and events throughout the city. I have been fortunate to be been involved from the branding concept, strategy and design side of things. It’s been a team effort of armchairs, pc students and design friends. Custom Moleskine

This is part of the Armchair seasonal gift series. What you have here is that infamous partner of adventures, the Moleskine notebook. Nate wrote a CSS style-sheet for the book and George and Larry over at the Epidemik Coalition screenprinted the design onto the book. It takes a little understanding of html to get it. It’s meant to be mildly amusing if you do. Nate Steiner took this photo and is coincidentally the hand model as well. My role was somewhere in the concept/design/producer arena.

Huey + Partners

This is a website for Huey Partners, an Atlanta based ad agency. It’s a flash site with some playful features. The news section is pulled dynamically from the html, which is absolutely seo fantastic, as you know. The Addy’s gave it a gold star or something similar at their awards ceremony. Or maybe it was a silver badge of distinguished service award.

Maestro Branding

This is a logo for Maestro, a web-based music player. It allows you to listen to all the music on your home pc from anywhere. This was done at Armchair.

Cops on Bikes Stills

These images are a series done while shooting the music video for Cops on Bikes. There were a lot of great people involved. My brother Aaron wrote the music track. We invited some friends over one night and fooled around with props and such. I photographed sequential stills in between shooting video. They were part of the final cut, used in a stop animation ninja like fashion.

Soorikian Furniture

View the Soorikian Furniture website. Soorikian furniture produces modern furniture and custom design pieces. I was hired to design a company identity for the furniture designer, and then execute the brand over multiple marketing fronts including business cards, stationery, brochures, photography, larger format posters for ICFF and a website featuring their collection.

Matt Soorikian had a love for Blue Note album covers. We did a lot of research in this arena. I think it inspired the primary colors and large, bold type for the logo identity. We explored type selections, color, and image in 3 separate explorations, then began to bring various combinations together. With feedback and review, we further developed the brand logo and mark. We wanted the homepage of the website to imitate a design magazine and feature a random piece of furniture each time one visits. It is like a cover page that entices readers to look inside.
